Michigan leaders heard you and are making it easier for families to receive help paying for quality child care. The Child Care scholarship program has expanded eligibility and removed previous barriers to qualification. Check to see if you’re eligible today.
Find Opportunities & Local Support
Great Start Collaboratives are the early childhood systems building bodies in the state of Michigan. Each collaborative is locally driven based on the needs of the community. These resources are working to build and reform the local early childhood systeme to achieve better outcomes for young children and their families. When seeking child care, early childhood education, parenting education and tools, or other parental support, start with your local Great Start Collaborative.
Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential
MiLEAP prioritizes education from preschool through postsecondary with a focus on preparing children for kindergarten and helping more people earn a skill certificate or degree to help them get a good paying job.
To accomplish this goal, MiLEAP will mobilize all our resources, both inside and outside the classroom, collaborate with leaders at the local, regional, and state level, and develop a plan that will put every Michigander on a path to prosperity.
Free Pre-K
PreK for All
Michigan's "PreK for All" initiative aims to provide free, high-quality pre-kindergarten education to all four-year-olds in the state by 2027, regardless of location, race/ethnicity, or family income. Families can enroll their children in programs like the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) or Head Start. The initiative includes a roadmap developed by the PreK for All Action Team, focusing on expanding access and meeting the needs of children and families.
